Laity and brothers receive joint formation in Hermitage

Participants finish formation programme 'with great satisfaction’

27/04/2016: France

Participants finished the formation programmes for community animators of El Escorial and Maniziana with great satisfaction on April 20.

Through this opportunity, the programme’s participants experienced a new and positive experience of joint formation, in the spirit of horizons of the XXI General Chapter: “A new spirit of communion between laity and brothers,” when they shared the pilgrimage to Hermitage from April 5 – 13.

The brothers, together with 14 laity of different countries: Portugal, Spain, Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela and Mexico, reflected in depth on the Marist intuitions and spirituality, while at the same time they were able to walk along the paths and places of our origins.

Before this experience, the Brothers and laity of El Escorial had a formation session on Marist patrimony, specifically on the letters of Marcellin, directed by Brother Patricio Pino. At the same time, the brothers of Manziana reflected in depth on the spiritual itinerary of Marcellin Champagnat, accompanied by Brother José María Ferre.

The experience of joint formation concluded with a retreat, a synthesis and an evaluation; accompanied by the brothers of the Brothers Today secretariat and inspired by the icon of Bethany as community of love, humanity and new life.
