Brother Basilio Rueda on his way to the altars

20/01/2018: Mexico

We recall the anniversary of Brother Basilio’s death this year, 21 January, modulated by the bureaucracies required to complete the diocesan process.

After several months of waiting the Archbishop, Cardinal José Francisco Robles, set the date of 18 December 2017, to install the new diocesan tribunal for the Causes of Saints.

And so it was done. These are the members of the tribunal: The delegate judge, Father Antonio Bañuelos, attorney of justice Father Javier Sánchez Camacho and the actuary notary Liliana Columba. On the part of the actor, Brother José Flores García intervened, as vice postulator, appointed by the general postulator, Brother Antonio Martínez Estaún and ratified by the superior general and his council.

Once the tribunal was constituted, the vice postulator presented his request so that the Archbishop could authorize the continuation of the process of the Cause of Brother Basilio and the collection of the complementary testimony of new witnesses, as requested by the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. For this, the vice Postulator delivered a list of the new witnesses. And then he proceeded to take the oath of office, before the Bible.

It is expected that the work of the tribunal can be done in about 20 sessions, which makes it foresee that the conclusion of the diocesan process will finish by the end of next May.
