No caminho em preparação ao bicentenário do Instituto Marista, em 2017, somos convidados a recordar outra data igualmente importante para o Instituto, que de alguma forma o antecedeu e o tornou possível. Em 23 de julho de 1816, doze jovens saídos da formação filosófico-teológica no Seminário Santo Irineu, vários recém-ordenados sacerdotes, reuniram-se no Santuário de Fourvière, em Lyon, para se consagrar à Sociedade da Bem-Aventurada Virgem Maria, que se comprometeram a fundar.
