10 representatives of different sectors contribute

Laity, collaborators and young people had a strong presence during a historic moment: the installation and the first Chapter of the Marist Province Brasil Sul-Amazônia.

Ten representatives of various sectors were invited to contribute, discern and reflect alongside the capitulants, on issues which are important to the institution, including setting the priorities for the next three years (2016-2018).

The Provincial Chapter took place in Veranópolis from Dec. 7 – 11.

Around the tables, forming small communities alongside the Brothers, the invited laity shared their experiences, concerns and expectations of the coming years. 

This further enriched the discussions for the new beginning of the Marist presence in the Amazon, the Federal District and Rio Grande do Sul, the three regions that make the Province, born from the union of Rio Grande do Sul Province and the Amazon District.

In the assembly programme, an afternoon was devoted specifically to the meeting between the laity, collaborators and youth.

Together, they shared their experiences in emotional reports.

Gratitude and joy were words that were repeated in every speech, in an atmosphere of communion and fraternity that took the group into consideration.
