5 novices make their first profession at Jeremie

On June 6th, feast of Father Champagnat and of the Marist Institute in the world, a group of 5 novices made their first profession in Jérémie, Haiti. The new brothers are: Johnner, Jonel, Nesly, Winé, Oudiére.

The celebration was both lively and touching, with songs of joy, with music provided by the choir of postulants from Cayes, and with much devotion and faith. Each novice entered into the moment with enthusiasm, expressing his motivation for making this commitment to his chosen way of life.

Bishop Joseph Gontrand Descoste of the diocese of Grand-Anse, always on hand for these important events, encouraged the newly professed to walk in the footsteps of Champagnat by giving life and continuity to their Marist dream.  At the same time, he took the opportunity to thank the Marists for their educational contribution in the diocese.

The parents of the newly professed were present to honour the occasion and to place the cross on their sons as they were setting out on this new path.

At the same celebration, 3 Brothers (Dimmy, Mayliko, Louis-Oscar) renewed their commitment to continue building the Marist dream in Haiti.

On June 3, 12 other brothers from Haiti renewed their vows in Port-au-Prince.
