A dream of Champagnat

The new centre for minors ?Champagnat Home? of Torrente opened its doors on 1 April 2009. Throughout the morning the first four residents of the home arrived. In the following days, the vacancies sere filled, up to twelve in all.

The new community, canonically erected and consisting of Brs. Samuel, Juan and Antonio, began its community life on 14 March 2009. This new community has the mission of creating a space where children and adolescents may be cared for under all human and educational aspects, and with the collaboration of the Educational Team, formed for this purpose.

This Educational Team has met on three occasions with the Brothers to effect a better union and for special subjects of formation. It is fitting to emphasize the day which was devoted to Marist identity, coming to know the life of Fr. Champagnat, explaining the Marist charism and detailing the fundamental aspects of Marist pedagogy.

The Educational Team is made up of the three Brothers, a Psychologist, a Social Worker, and 7 Social Teachers.

Today is being realised a dream of Champagnat!
