A fund Raising
The Provincial and Council of the Province of the United States have approved a fund raising project proposed by their Provincial Development Co-Directors, Mrs. Paulette Karas and Brother Hugh Turley, in support of the Mission Ad Gentes project.
The project, called a Donor Acquisition Program (DAP), will be conducted in the USA and begin this spring. The idea of raising money for MAG was sparked by a 2007 visit of Br. Luis Sobrado to the Development Office in Chicago. Br. Luis? concern for continued funding through the DAP prompted the Co- Directors to voluntarily construct and administer a program to raise funds in the USA.
At the February 2009 meeting of the Advisory Council for the Asia Mission Ad Gentes Sector held in Rome, Paulette and Brother Hugh presented this program to be conducted in the USA. Also in attendance were the Director and staff of BIS.
The success of this fund raising program rests squarely on the shoulders of Brothers of the Sector, specifying the needs they encounter in their work with youth and with the poor. For this reason Paulette and Brother Hugh are in constant need of stories and pictures from the MAG Brothers? stories about your work, with plenty of pictures.
Brother Sean Sammon, then Provincial, initiated the Province?s Development Office in 1989. Paulette and Brother Hugh have directed the program from Chicago, Illinois, USA for the past 20 years.
Mrs. Karas and Brother Hugh are members of the National Catholic Development Council (NCDC) in the United States, and are internationally certified as fund raising executives (CFRE) by CFRE International.
