
Almost sixty Marists from Venezuela participate in the Lay Assembly
Approximately 60 lay Marists from Venezuela (Norandina province), representing 14 communities, met at the âLos Tequesâ formation house in Miranda, from March 21 to 23. They shared their experiences of life, mission, and spirituality; addressed the theme of the 23rd General Chapter 2025, and commemorated the Marist centenary in Venezuela.
On the first day, the lay Marists explored aspects of their personal and community life project, reflected on the desire to live according to the call of God and the meaning of the Marist community for each one of them. On the second day, Br. JosĂ© Miguel Caballero, Vice-Provincial, presented the reflections of the VIII Provincial Chapter and invited those present to incorporate these teachings into their respective missions. Afterwards, Mr. RaĂșl Amaya, a lay Marist (Santa MarĂa de los Andes province) gave an analysis of the conclusions of the International Forum on the Lay Marist Vocation. The day concluded with a space dedicated to the Marist spiritual patrimony, guided by Br. Carlos SaĂșl Corzo.
The third day was a symbolic celebration of 100 years of Marist presence in Venezuela. During the Eucharist it was highlighted the work and legacy of all the Marists who have contributed to the Marist lay work in the country. During the event, the participants, lay Marists, expressed their deep gratitude for all that they have received during all these years, and renewed their commitment to follow the example of Jesus, in the style of Mary and Champagnat.
