Annual meeting of the FMSI Cono Sur Office

The representatives of the countries which form the provinces of Santa Maria de los Andes (Bolivia, Peru, Chile) and Cruz del Sur (Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina) gathered from June 8 – 10 in Santiago de Chile for the annual meeting of the FMSI Cono Sur Office.

Brothers and Laity from Brazil also attended as well as two representatives of the Inter-American Network of Marist Solidarity.

Participants are now finishing the evaluation of the operational plan agreed upon for the first four years of the Cono Sur Office (2013-2017), and establishing the new challenges, to continue to better defend the rights of children and youths.

In the framework of the bicentenary and just before a new general chapter of the Marist Institute, the participants aim to improve the work that the FMSI Cono Sur Office has been carrying out in recent years.

They, along with the entire Marist Institute, benefit from the achievements in the actions of denouncing and of political impact, in which the main objective is to take the voices of those made more invisible and promote human rights.

FMSI director Marzia Ventimiglia, and FMSI child rights coordinator Brother Álvaro Sepúlveda participated on behalf of the FMSI Rome office.
