Being Marist in Europe

The European Vocations Team met on 4 and 5 May in Arlon, Belgium. We were able to share with the Brothers of the community of Habay-la-Vieille, who showed their  affection for us in various ways.

The agenda included various subjects such as the evaluation of the European Vocations Easter, held in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, in which 9 young people from Spain, Portugal, France and Italy took part, together with a group of Brothers from different countries : Brasil, Mexico, Lebanon, France and Spain. We also reflected on the  document « Evangelisers in the midst of youth » and programmed some vocations activities for the next school year. We are already happy with the holding, in the summer, of the Interprovincial Accompaniment Course Level II, organised by the Spanish Marist Conference (CME) in Córdoba, Castillo de Maimón, from 4 to 8 August 2013.

On this occasion we had the benefit once again of the accompaniment of Br César Rojas, director of the Secretariat Brothers Today. Br Ernesto Tendero is the co-ordinator of the team, which is composed of those responsible for the animation of vocations in their respective Provinces : Br Alejandro Mena and Mayte Ballaz (Ibérica), Br Samuel Gómez Níguez (Mediterránea), Br Lisardo García (Compostela), Br André Déculty (Hermitage) and Br Roberto di Troia (West Central Europe).
