Br. Pere Ferré appointed director of the Brothers Today Secretariat
The General Council has appointed Brother Pere Ferré, from the Hermitage Province, as director of the Brothers Today Secretariat in Rome for a period of three years, starting in January 2025.
The Brothers Today Secretariat was created in 2009 in response to the XXI General Chapter’s call to “live a new consecrated life which promotes a new way of being brother.” Today, the Secretariat animates the area of Marist life, alongside the Secretariat of Laity. Its activities revolve around the three aspects of Marist life: formation, animation of community life and communion between brothers and laypeople. Brother Pere will take over from Brother Ángel Medina, Assistant Director in 2018 and 2019 and Director of the Secretariat since January 2020. He will work alongside Br. Lindley Sionosa, assistant director, in harmony with the International Commission of Brothers Today, which is made up of brothers representing the 6 regions of the Institute.
