Brother Ernesto, Superior General, participates in the Synod on Synodality

The second session of the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops is being held at the Vatican on the theme of synodality in the Church (2021 – 2024). This is the second phase, “The Discernment of the Pastors,” of this unprecedented synodal process. The first phase consisted of “The Consultation of the people of God”. The third phase to come will be the “Implementation: for a Synodal Church”.

Brother Ernesto Sanchez is one of the five representatives of the Union of Superiors General. After participating in the first session in October 2023, he is also participating in the meeting that began at the Vatican on October 2.

Prior to the opening, the participants gathered for a two-day retreat (Sept. 30 and Oct. 1). On October 1, there was a vigil of reconciliation and forgiveness in St. Peter’s Basilica.
