Brothers and laity

From 22 – 24 March, brothers and laity of Colombia gathered for a meeting of the co-ordinators of fraternities and groups of laity in the House of Refuge in Cali. It was an opportunity to continue the accompaniment of the life and mission of the groups and fraternities.

Together with the accompaniment, it was an appropriate time for working on the themes proposed for the II Marist Mission Assembly: mission, spirituality and the new brothers-laity relationship.

In the afternoon, with the company and Brothers Carlos Alberto Rojas and Ismar Portilla, there was a presentation on the new projects under way in the Province of Norandina, sector of Colombia and Fundamar. It was a privileged moment to see the challenges presented to us by the groups and fraternities for this year: to celebrate with the brothers of Colombia the 125 years of presence in the country, and the project of daily voluntary service.

Finally, a start was made on launching, with the co-ordinators present there, the diploma in Bible Studies with the animation of Br Ismar Portilla. We consider this diploma as a great gift for each of the fraternities and groups of laity; it is an opportunity to keep on deepening the spiritual and formative dimension of each group.
