Brothers in the Community of Bobandana trapped by the war
The war is back in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Three Brothers from the Province of the Province of East Central Africa live in the area occupied by the attacking group, in the Community of Bobandana. They are Brothers Basile Buunda, Joseph Kifala and Fortunat Zaniwe. All activities have come to a standstill and the Brothers are blocked in their house. There is a massive displacement of the population seeking refuge.
Brother Venceslas Baindekeli, Provincial of East Central Africa, sent a message that we reproduce here.

The purpose of this communication is to bring you up to date on the situation of our three brothers who are currently in the Community of Bobandana (Brothers Basile Buunda, Joseph Kifala and Fortunat Zaniwe), trapped by the war and it is since the day before yesterday that the town of Minova where our Community of Bobandana is located has been occupied by the attacking group. The population and all the pupils are fleeing towards the town of Goma, where the war is progressing, and it’s really a catastrophe, with massive displacements of the population seeking refuge, and our pupils are not spared. All activities have come to a standstill and the brothers have had neither the time nor the means to travel and they don’t know which saint to turn to. I’m in touch with them all the time and I encourage them to stay where they are and observe how things are going, while being careful.
I really ask you, dear brothers, to continue to pray for our three brothers and above all to pray for the restoration of peace in the eastern part of the DRC.
Brother Babey – Provincial Superior
