Champagnat Global: pre-summit of the region of America

Following the process of co-creation of the Marist Global Network of Schools, on September 9, 2021, the pre-summit of the region of America took place with the participation of about 250 members of the school community (Brothers, teachers, students, parents) from the America Sue and Arco Norte.

Brother Ben Consigli, a member of the  General council and link to the Secretariat for Education and Evangelization gave the opening address by welcoming all the representatives of the school community, thanking them for their presence and sharing some really motivating reflections: “We have been called to journey together as a global family to respond to the cry of today’s children and young people, in a new and creative way”, were some of the words that continue to resonate in those of us who participated in the pre-summit (read the full article: English | Español | Français | Português).

The workshop, organized in an online mode, aimed to dream, and feel the network, through the methodology of Appreciative Inquiry to prepare the actions that will be concretized in the summit that will take place from October 25 to 29.

Participants had the opportunity to share their experiences and best practices of collaborative work. In addition, there was a very special moment where each one could visualize the future of the network, sharing their desires with some colleagues and together exposed their contributions to the rest of the assembly in a creative way.

The Network is being woven and one of the most important moments was to specify among all the priority, factors that must be considered when carrying out the Network.

Some of the most repeated elements were:

• Academic exchanges.  
• Share experiences and best practices.
• Inclusive connection. Possibilities of connection and encounter for everyone, especially for those with fewer resources.
• Simple platform, meeting.
• Promote international teaching volunteer experiences.  
• Educational projects among students.
• Promote Youth Ministry.

On September 23, the Pre-Summit of the regions of Europe and Africa will take place and with it the collaborative work with a group of more than 400 members of the international Marist school community will be concluded.
