2008-12-17 GENERAL HOUSE

Chaplain of the International College, Rome

On December 11 2008, Father Carlos Rogerio Groh, died in Florianópolis (Brazil), at the age of 37. Father Rogerio had spent four years as chaplain for the community of student Brothers in Rome. He acted as chaplain to the International College while carrying out his research to prepare and defend his doctoral thesis on the pastoral role of bishops in their dioceses. In the month of August of this year he was diagnosed with cancer, which in a short time bought his life to an end. On announcing this sad loss to the Brothers who knew him, we invite them to pray for the eternal rest of his soul. The news of the death of Rogerio was communicated to the General House by his fellow student Father Tarcísio Pedro Vieira who had preceded him as chaplain to the International College in Rome. In his obituary notice he invites us to renew our faith in the resurrection, to praise God for the life of Father Rogerio and to pray that the lord sends workers to his harvest.
