Continuing along the Marist path

Brother Valério Dellalibera made his perpetual profession during a Mass celebrated in the cathedral of Nuestra Señora Aparecida, located in Cascavel State-PR. Many Marist Brothers from South Central Brazil Province attended the Mass, which provided a moment of great happiness for all those witnessed this joyful testimony to the value of consecrated life.

The celebration was presided by Father Alfeu, pastor of the cathedral. The vows were received by Brother Provincial Tercilio Sevegnani in the name of Brother Superior General. Present along with Brother Valério were his mother and sisters.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Brother Tercilio offered a few words by way of welcoming Brother Valério to his definitive commitment as Marist Brother. Brother Tercilio reminded all those present that the perpetual vows are not so much a final destination, the end of a process; rather they are a new beginning, a new enthusiasm for continuing along the Marist path.

In his turn Brother Valério addressed those in attendance, expressing his thanks to all present for the various ways in which they had contributed to his formation as a Marist Brother. He also offered a souvenir of the profession ceremony to all those, who by their presence at the ceremony have given him help and support. The Mass was followed by a meal marked by the warmth of a large family gathering.

?The Marist journey continues. Witnessing how Brother Valério has just made his perpetual vows, I feel a greater strength to face the daily struggles of life. It?s a real joy to be able to live and share my life like Brother Valério. Commitment is a challenge, but when decisions are made with love, all is possible.? Such was the comment of Brother Marcos Serena.
