Course Charisma and Marist educational principles
The Pontifical Catholic University of Curitiba, thanks to an initiative of the Network of Marist Universities offers a course in the Marist charism and educational principles. The first group began in February 2014 and a second in February 2015. PUCPR now offers places for the third group, which will begin in April 2016. Below we publish a letter from the course coordinator, Adalgisa de Oliveira, communicating the call and providing details about the course and registration, intended for Brothers and Marists Laypeople.

Dear brother,
We are pleased to announce that PUCPR, motivated by the students’ approval and the expectations generated in some environments of the institute, decided to open up enrollments for the course Marist Charism and Educational Principles, an initiative of the Marist International Network of Institutions of Higher Education.
It is a great pleasure for us to provide a Marist quality service in the formation of brothers and lay Marists, which world inclusion covers it of an international and ecclesial dimension, harmonized with the proposals for the preparation of the celebration of the second Marist centenary.
Some information to guide those who want to take this course follows:
Course beginning
The course begins in April 12, 2016.
Admission deadline and payment
Admission will be done in three-steps:
- application for admission: admission to the course is done by the student forwarding the academic documents requested and filling in the admission form on: www.pucpr.br/carisma. Admission must be done before March 1st, 2016;
- admission confirmation: before March 10, 2016, PUCPR Secretariat will make a list of the students that have completed the admission and are in accordance with the academic requirements of PUCPR together with a payment note of all the course tuition fee;
- admission payments: once the notification of admission has been received, the enrollment payment transaction can be initiated; payment must be done before March 20, 2016, through a bank transfer to CNPJ: 76.659.820/0003-13 to ASSOCIAÇÃO PARANAENSE DE CULTURA. The copy of the invoice should be sent to PUCPR via the e-mail [email protected].
Course fee
Course fee is $3,500 (US dollars) that can be paid either during the application or in two instalments: one during the application and the other at the beginning of the fifth subject. Should the student choose the second option, the first amount shall be 2.000$ American dollars and the second one shall be 1.600$ American dollars.
The fee does not include other expenses such as banks transfer charges, transfer certification procedure, nor the students’ transportation expenses, if needed.
In order to certify distance learning courses Brazil’s law calls for two requirements: students to sit through the final exam and present the final course project, both can be accomplished online.
Universities integrated to the Marist International Network of Institutions of Higher Education can offer its students a double certification. Through an agreement with PUCPR the students can attend the distance learning course on Marist Charism and Educational Principles offered by this university and each university can legalize the course validity in the country where it is based.
