Course for formators
The course for formators, which began on May 15 and has 17 participants, will conclude on July 12. A part of the programme included a pilgrimage to Marist places, from June 21 – 30.
The pilgrimage was divided into three parts:
- Time for prayer and personal reflection;
- Study time for appropriate content for the formators, under the guidance of Brother Michael Green of the province of Australia;
- Visits and pilgrimage to different places of Marist origins, including Taizé, due to its significance for the formation of young people.
They travelled by bus, but they also did parts of the route on foot so that they could “feel what Marcellin experienced” during his countless walks.
The programme’s coordinating team prepared the pilgrimage in advance and based it on each of the participant’s spiritual experience. For many, it was their first opportunity to visit the places where the founder and the first brothers had lived.
Brother Antón, from Vietnam, underscored that “being in the places where Saint Marcellin lived is a special emotion and one learns about the history, charism and spirituality of the Congregation, which is essential for a formator brother.”
Brother Rodrigo, of the province of América Central, stated “it was a grace to be able to come back again. Now, I could taste the experience more calmly and, like Mary, meditate at each place from the heart and on events that had taken place there.”
