Deepening the Life Project
To create significant spaces for learning and sharing in small communities, to become familiar with the mediations of growth proposed, to evaluate and celebrate the progress made : such were the objectives of the 3rd week of the II Itinerary of formation in preparation for perpetual profession. Gathered in the House of Youth in Cochabamba, Bolivia, the 14 young Brothers lived a time of integration in community as proposed by the organization team.
The week began with the presentation of the proposals for the days to come. Br Javier, co-ordinator of the programme, presented the personal and community aspects of the process. Then the group was proposed a desert time, with some questions for reflection : « How have we arrived at this experience ? How do we feel at this time ? How do we want to reach the way to follow ?
Time was also taken to present and learn the methods which facilitate the process of the Itinerary, such as Lectio Divina, Personal Life Project, accompaniment, workshops, desert times, ministry and common outings. The young Brothers, in small communities (groups) helping to strengthen bonds, had free time to visit the city of Cochabamba.
« To know the real situation we are living in helps us study the differences and to open ourselves to the experience we are in process of living. And the fact of getting to know the Brothers with whom we are sharing life for four months lets us build confidence and intimacy », said Br Paul Martin, of the Province of « Brasil Centro Norte ».
For the whole of the week, the young brothers were able to go deeper into the construction of the Personal Life Project in view of the Itinerary and share the common elements in the small communities. They also did a detailed evaluation of the last three weeks and defined the places of pastoral work for the coming months.
