Diploma in Youth Ministry
The Marist Province of México Central and the Marist University of Querétaro, during the week of 6 to 10 July, celebrated the 2009 conferring of the Diploma in Youth Ministry. Its main purpose is to develop in those taking part skills, values and knowledge basic to the better performance of their work.
A week in which young people coming from different places in the country took the opportunity to share the joys, experiences and learning they had acquired during the formation journey. The Diploma is intended for young people in the bachelor?s course and other university courses, as well as for teachers who are involved in the animation of Youth Ministry.
The diversity of participants from both Provinces, Dioceses and Seminaries, gave a great richness to the reflections and life shared in the course of the week.
The Diploma consists of two modules, and the subjects taught are Human Development, Realities of Youth, Marist Pedagogy, Spirituality, and Christology, Youth Accompaniment, Pastoral Creativity and Planning.
The great diversity of youth cultures challenges us today to search for and generate together with them ways of community life, of prayer, respect and solidarity.
The week?s work ended with the Eucharist of missioning, at which the Br. Provincial, Fernando Mejía, invited the participants to go back to their places carrying the message of Jesus, a Jesus living and present, whom many children and youth need to know.
This year culminated in the formation of twenty-one young people, who join the five preceding generations.
