European leaders complete five-week training process
From January 27 to February 1, participants in the Formation Program for European leaders took part in meetings with the General Council and with those in charge of the offices of the General Administration at the General House. This session marked the conclusion of a five-week course that European leaders from the different provinces of the region have been undergoing since October 2023. They have been weeks full of experiences and content, intimately linked to the Marist Mission and Charism.
The participants have culminated this process by being able to relate everything they do in their daily lives, linked to the Marist Mission, and what they have experienced in the previous four weeks, to the way in which the Marist Institute understands its organization and its service to the mission and the charism, from the General House in Rome. To this end, they were able to meet in Rome with the Institute’s Communication team, the secretariats of Education and Evangelization, Solidarity and Volunteering, Laity and Brothers Today, Strategic Planning and Finance teams, etc. There was time to reflect on all this in vocational terms and this was helped by the presentations from Laity and Brothers Today, together with the presentations on leadership, synodality, the reconfiguration process, postulation, given by Brother Guillermo Villareal, as postulator general, Brother Ben Consigli, liaison of the General Council with Europe and Brother Ernesto Sánchez, Superior General.
On January 28th, we were fortunate to have the presence of Father Armando Matteo, Secretary General of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, who gave a profile of Pope Francis and his teachings, together with the pastoral ministry of the 21st century, preparing the participants for the audience they had on Wednesday, January 29th, at the Vatican.
The whole process culminated in a beautiful final celebration with Br. Ernesto, Superior General, who invited participants to be protagonist in the Marist Mission.
The meeting was prepared by the Region’s team, in connection with the Secretariat of Education and Evangelization, with Brothers JosĂ© Sánchez, Niño Pizarro together with Diugar Enrique Madera Buscarini, coordinator of the secretariats, and Flaminia Filanci, responsible for the services of the secretariats.
