Final Profession of Brother Ngum Basil Njong

On Thursday, December 5th, 2024, the Marist Brothers and the Catholic community gathered in a spirit of joy and gratitude at St. Albert’s College, Bafut, Cameroon, to witness the Final Profession of Brother Ngum Basil Njong of the West Africa Province. This solemn and joyous occasion was presided over by the Archbishop of Bamenda, Most Rev. Andrew Nkea and in attendance by many Priests, Religious, Br. Basil’s family, members of the Bawum Parish, and the students of St. Albert’s College.

In his homily, the Archbishop exhorted Br. Basil to remain steadfast in his commitment to the Lord. He encouraged him to open his heart fully to God’s grace, to faithfully embrace the guidance of his Superiors, and to live out his vocation as a Marist Brother with unwavering fidelity.

The ceremony was a beautiful expression of faith, enriched by the lively choir whose animation was very wonderful. After the Holy Mass, all presents were treated to a well animated celebration at the school hall, where the joy of the day continued in an atmosphere of festivity and gratitude.

We give thanks to God for the success of this ceremony and for the gift of Br. Basil to the Church and the Marist family. May the Lord guide and protect him as he begins this new chapter of his life, living out his consecration in service to God and humanity.
