Final profession of four Vietnamese Brothers of the Marist District of Asia
On December 7, 2024, four Vietnamese Brothers of the Marist District of Asia (Peter Nguyễn Hoà ng Anh, Joseph Nguyễn Duy Bình, John the Baptist Nguyễn Thanh Hùng, and Joseph Lê Danh Thưởng) made their life-long commitment as members of the Marist Brothers.
It was a profound honor and joy to celebrate this significant milestone in the presence of numerous Brothers from the District, both local and international, as well as many priests, religious brothers, and sisters. We extend our heartfelt thanksgiving and praise to Ernesto Sánchez, Superior General, and his Council for welcoming us into the global Marist family. Special gratitude is due to Brother Canisio Jose Willrich and his Council for their unwavering support and encouragement over the years, leading to this sacred moment of dedicating our lives wholly to God in the Marist charism and spirituality.
We are deeply indebted to the missionary and local Brothers in Vietnam who have been instrumental in our vocational journey. Their guidance, prayers, and steadfast support made this celebration not only possible but profoundly meaningful.
The theme chosen for this joyous occasion, “At Your Word, I Will Let Down the Nets” (Luke 5:5b), reflects the spirit of faith and commitment embraced by the four Brothers. Drawing on this theme, the main celebrant, Father Joseph Nguyen Mai Thanh, S.M.V., delivered a profound and inspiring homily, challenging the newly professed Brothers to remain strong and steadfast in their vocations amidst the unique challenges of the 21st century.
