?First Day of the Marist Educator? in the Mediterranea Province

The Mediterranea Province celebrated the ‘First Day of the Marist Educator’ in Autumn as a formation initiative based in schools in Alicante and Cordoba, Spain. Around 450 teachers of Marist works in Spain’s part of the province took part.

The goal of the encounter has been, on the one hand, to hold an encounter will all of the educators and to strengthen the vision, mission and own values that is transmitted in Marist educational centres; and, on the other hand, to share the good pedagogical practices that are developed in the classrooms of different schools, favouring the connection between teachers in a friendly and familiar climate.

During this First Day of the Marist Educator, participants worked on spiritual intelligence. It is a concept that the Marist Institution, through the province’s ministry team, has already spread throughout several programmes and is linked to the aspect of interiority and personal work to achieve a better and greater knowledge of self, of one’s own capacities, of values necessary to contribute to society and, in particular, to the daily educational environment.

Brother Chano Guzmán, provincial Coordinator of the council of Marist educational Works, stressed the importance of these types of encounters.

“Our charism urges us to be attentive to the calls of our times, to the wishes and needs of people, especially our students,” he affirmed.
