FTD Education promotes the VIII Meeting “Integra Confessions”.

The Marist publishing house of Brazil, FTD Educação, promoted the VIII National Meeting “Integra Confessionais” (Integra Confessions) from June 8 to 10, an event that brought together more than 300 participants from 106 Congregations, sponsors and administrators of Catholic Education Networks. The meeting included the contribution of well-known speakers from the educational area, representatives of the Church and National and Latin American Catholic Institutions.

Fr. Júlio César, of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB) presided at the Eucharistic Celebration and the institutional opening was given by Brother Delcio Balestrin – President of the Marist Group of the Province of Centro-Sul and FTD Educação.

It is worth mentioning the special participation of Archbishop Ângelo Vincenzo Zani (Secretary of the Congregation for Catholic Education of the Holy See) in the opening conference, which was also attended by Monsignor José Luis Ayalla (President of the Venezuelan Episcopal Council).

During the first day, the specialist Claudia Costin addressed the topic “The challenge of guaranteeing good academic performance in the current scenario”, with the moderation of Elaine Castello, from FTD Educação.

On the second day, representatives of Catholic institutions from Brazil and Latin America presented their contributions to strengthening the economy of communion: Humberto Ortiz (Latin American Episcopal Council), Fr João Batista (National Association of Catholic Education), Sister Maria Inês (Brazilian Conference of Religious), Fr Júlio César (CNBB) and Óscar Sayago (Inter-American Confederation of Catholic Education), with the mediation of Ceciliany Alves, from FTD.

On the third and last day, the political scientist Rudá Ricci debated the theme “Educational management through evidence in the socio-economic scenario”, with the mediation of Ricardo Mariz (UMBRASIL). The speaker provided important reflections and demonstrated some ways for the Catholic school to overcome the crisis. He stressed that “what distinguishes us is our identity. We cannot renounce it”.

The Interreligious Dialogue round table dealt with the theme “Fraternity and dialogue in education”, with the participation of a priest, a rabbi and a pastor. José Bizon (House of Reconciliation), Pastor Romi Bencke (National Council of Christian Churches) and Rabbi Samy Pinto, with the mediation of Ricardo Tavares (FTD Educação). Three religious leaders talking about what we have in common, what unites us in the mission of education: “The purpose of forming children and young people with values permeated by faith, to contribute to the construction of a more just and fraternal society”.
