He has consecrated me?
On the 13th August, object of the benevolence and the love of God, Brother ADRIANO BROLLO pronounced his perpetual vows and consecrated himself definitively to the Lord as a Marist Brother in the Province of Brasil Centro-Sul. The ceremony took place in his native area of Marombas, in the district of Brunópolis, SC.
As Mary, Brother Adriano was also able to say: ?The Lord has looked upon me, he has chosen me and has wanted me??
Our Lady, in her Magnificat, sings that she recognises herself as small and a servant, and that despite her humility and lowliness, God has looked upon her to realise great things in her life. The initiative always comes from God: ?He has chosen me; he has wanted me; he has consecrated me.?
Mary teaches us that the people who consecrate their life to God (religious and consecrated laypeople) choose this state of life because they are convinced that God has called them. ?It is not I who consecrates myself to God but God who consecrates me.? The ceremonies of entry into religious life, of consecration to the Lord and the profession of vows are occasions that are more or less solemn, where, publicly, the person responds to the call of God on his initiative. Like Mary, the called person says yes to the love of God, to the free choice of which he or she is the object.
