Higher Education with the Charism of Champagnat
The President of the International Marist Network of Institutions of Higher Education, Br. Roberto Méndez López wrote a letter on the past June 19, convoking its members to the next Assembly, which will take place in Lima (Peru) from April 1 to 5 2019. This will be the 8th Assembly of the Network, which met for the first time in the year 2004, in Curitiba (Brazil). More than 20 Marist Institutions of Higher Education will participate in it.
The International Marist Network of Institutions of Higher Education is a weave of works of the Shared Mission of brothers and lay persons which operate in various Provinces of the Marist Institute. Each Institution of Higher Education is a node of the network, with drives that are multidirectional in its inter-institutional communication, and unidirectional in relationship with a co-ordinating node for specific tasks and functions collectively agreed upon.
The objectives proposed for the International Marist Network of Institutions of Higher Education are as follows:
- To strengthen intelligence and collaboration among the Institutions belonging to the International Marist Network of Institutions of Higher Education.
- To provide intelligence on subjects that are common to us.
- To share and exchange experiences and information which allow us to improve activities and processes in carrying out our Mission.
- To promote inter-institutional mobility, encouraging academic and solidarity connections which offer opportunities for teachers and students to gain international experience.
- To contribute to attending to the needs and concerns of Marist works in the different areas of Mission.
- To collaborate with the Marist Solidarity Foundation (FMS International), and other institutions, in uniting forces for the education of the most needy and obtaining access to the organizations of the United Nations involved in caring for youth and education.
The Marist International Network of Institutions of Higher Education is accompanied by the Secretariat of Mission of the Institute, which promotes the integration of the journey of these institutions with the strategic plan of animation and governance of the Institute.
