Jubilee of Mercy begins in Africa

The attack in Paris, last Nov. 13, revolutionized the life of the international community. The monster of terror knocked at the door of Europe’s inhabitants and the whole world is worrying.

In this context the Pope Francisco is travelling to Africa, where he will stay from Nov. 25 – 30. In five days, he will perceive the reality of countries like Kenya, Uganda and the Central African Republic.

It will be on land marked by the attacks: remember April’s tragedy of Garissa, Kenya, where 150 people died.

The Pope will open the door of the Jubilee of Mercy in Bangi, the capital of the Central African Republic.

The Jubilee begins in a bloody land. With this gesture, the Holy Father shows us that we cannot be content with the idea of being obliged to apply in our society and in our lives the system of closed doors.

The Marist’s of Champagnat testify to the charism of Marcellin in these lands through which the Pope is passing.

The East Central Africa province has works in the Central African Republic and Kenya, whose capital is also home to the Marist International Centre (MIC), the residence of the brothers in Africa who complete their initial formation.
