?La Valla, the paths of a dream?

‘La Valla, the paths of a dream’ was held from March 23 – 26 in Hermitage on the occasion of the Marist bicentenary.

Ninety-four members of schools, social works and teams of the Mediterranea province with presence in Spain, Italy and Lebanon participated.

The participants described the encounter as “days lived with great intensity” and “a unique experience that has helped participants to further dive into our origins and into our evangelising and educational mission.”

The event, organised by the Brothers Today Secretariat, included a pilgrimage to the most significant places in the life of Marcellin and the testimony of Brother Alain Delorme.

The superior provincial of Mediterranea, Brother Juan Carlos Fuertes, was also present.

“Marcellin has summoned us here to stop the rush we have every day and gives us an opportunity to meet and enjoy each other,” said the provincial during the closure of the encounter. “An opportunity to live with a smile, with fraternity and with being welcoming. An opportunity to learn from the heart.”

“It seems that Marcellin himself has summoned us here, as he did with the first brothers, and also sends us to be Hermitage with those who come in contact with us,” he continued.

“To be Hermitage so that the people can rest, so that we listen to them, so that we welcome them and we give them what they needs".

“May this experience help us to speak the language of fraternity and that they can say of us and of our educational works, as the first brothers said: 'Look at how they love each other.' So that people learn, with the heart, to live for real”.
