Laity gathers to learn, reflect, and celebrate in East Asia Province

The Laity Committee of the East Asia Province initiated a program gathering the laity and brothers in charge with the animation of laity for a time of learning, reflecting, and celebrating on the Feast of St. Marcellin on June 6, 2021. Sixty-six participated in the said event.

Alongside the reflection process of the International Forum on the Lay Marist Vocation the gathering adapted the theme:  The Lay Marist Vocation:  Welcoming, Nurturing, Living and Sharing our Vocation.  It was desired that this gathering become an opportunity for the CMMF, Friends of Marcellin, mission partners, volunteers, and other lay Marists who are partakers of the gift of the Marist charism, come together and reflect on the vocational aspect of being lay Marist.

It was a profound learning experience to have Br. Josep Maria Soteras, General Councilor, who shared on the topic Biblical Foundation of the Vocation of Laity and the Vision of the Institute on the Vocation of Lay Marist.

Mrs. Marjorie Raƈeses (Philippines) and Mr. Pep Buetas (Spain) shared testimonies of their Marist journey.  Pep guided the dynamics and process of reflections generating a meaningful output of the participants’ experience.  These outputs are valuable resource in the process of reflection towards the International Forum on the Laity Vocation.
