Lavalla200> Formation Program

During recent meetings of the General Council in Rome, Brother Emili Turú and the council, confirmed the candidates’ list for the 2017 formation program forLavalla200> International Communities for a New Beginning.

Eighteen Marists have been selected (11 brothers, four lay women, three lay men, including a married couple) from Australia, the Philippines, Mexico, the United States, Spain, Peru, Italy, Nigeria, India, Pakistan and Brazil representing 12 provinces.

The participants will arrive in Rome at the end of April and, after one week’s orientation at the General House, they will travel to San Martin a Monti. They will spend two months living interculturally in small fraternities in this small hamlet in the middle of the countryside surrounding the Camaldoli Abbey. 

A pilgrimage to L’Hermitage in France has been organised for the end of June, during which Marists will be commissioned by Brother Emili to be members of Lavalla200> communities.

The formation programme is facilitated by Brother Ángel Medina and Brother Jeff Crowe, with the assistance of Brother Chris Wills, director of the Collaboration for mission, international (Cmi). Later, Brothers Jeff and Ángel will be part of the accompaniment team for those who are appointed to international communities.
