Marist bodies chosen as organs of the National Government
The Marist Union of Brasil (UMBRASIL) was elected as titular of the Chair of Education, with the position of supporting entity for the National Council of Youth (Conjuve), an organ of the Brasilian National Government. The Marist Youth Movement (PJM) also became the replacement for the Chair of Religious Institutions in the section Movements, Associations and Organizations, together with the Youth Ministry (PJ), and was elected titular for the sector. Both bodies will occupy the positions during the period from 2014 to 2016.
The Conjuve formulates and proposes public policies for youth, carries out studies and investigations on the socio-economic situation of young people, and promotes exchanges between national and international youth organizations. Of a total of 60 members composing the Conjuve, 20 belong to the federal government and 40 to civil society.
