Marist Mission

On 5, 6 and 7 July 2011, the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Marist International Higher Education Network was held in the Provincial Residence of the  Province of « México Central », in Mexico City. The participants were Brothers José Antonio Espinoza Medina (President), João Carlos do Prado (Secretary), John McMahon (Australia), and Messieurs Manuel Carretero González (Spain), Ricardo Tescarolo (Brasil), seconded by  Alejandro Soto (Mexico).

The meeting’s programme consisted of evaluating the work achieved by the Network’s Working Groups, ie: 1) Norms of the Network ; 2) University Ministry; 3) Mobility of teaching, auxiliary and service personnel; 4) Third stage extramural course (EAD) in Marist mission and spirituality; and 5) Platform for exchange of knowledge and students.

In addition, the Committee consecrated two days of work to organise the V Meeting of the Council of Rectors of the Network, to be held in the Marist University of Mexico City from 9 to 13 October 2012. The theme proposed for the meeting is: « Marist Higher Education networking for the construction of a new land ».

The meeting was considered positive enough by the participants, who also commented favourably on the welcome and the visit to the Marist University in Mexico City. Thanks to the  Province of « México Central » !
