Marist presence grows in Melanesia

Brother Elie Sangul, of the District of Melanesia, made his perpetual profession on Pentecost Island in Vanuatu on Dec. 18.

Brother Jean Marie Batik, the district superior, received his vows, participating in the celebration along with the island’s Marist community.
The District of Melanesia includes the countries of Papua New Guinea (its headquarters), New Caledonia, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.

Currently, among the candidates for Marist consecrated life, the District has two postulants at the formation house in Laumanasa (Solomon Islands) and two novices, who are in the interprovincial novitiate of Tudela in Sri Lanka.
