Marist presence in Norandina

Within the framework of Holy Week, from 14 to 20 April 2014, the Spiritual Exercises were conducted for the Brothers of Colombia in the conference house of Santa María del Lago, property of the Sisters of Bethlehem. The retreat was directed by Br Raúl Echeverri Mejía, who presented various topics such as spirituality, transcendence, autonomy and sexuality, which provided a base for enabling the Brothers to discover themselves and to feel themselves challenged by Jesus of Nazareth.

Another element to be noted was the participation of 6 Marist laymen from the different works of Colombia, who were able to share with the Brothers this very special event in silence and prayer.

The main moments of Holy Week were not left out of the retreat. The houses of formation and some Brothers prepared beforehand and animated the celebrations of the Sacred Triduum with great faith and creativity.

The retreat concluded, as traditionally, with an informal meeting animated by the Br Provincial and the councillors of Colombia to share some family news and to publicize elements related to the great events being convened this year, such as the International Marist Mission Assembly and the celebration of the 125 years of Marist presence in Colombia.
