Marist youth around the same table

In an atmosphere of great joy and friendship, 30 Marist young people meeting at Brazlândia (Brasília) had a wonderful experience of God. The meeting « Juventudes em CLIMA », Course for Marist leaders, held from 13 to 16 May, provided the students from the different Units of the Province « Brasil Centro-Norte » with an excellent opportunity to pray, make the acquaintance of persons from other regions, debate about certain topics and share personal experiences. Starting from the theme « Marist youth around the same table », CLIMA encouraged the youth to search for new ideals for living, to dream of a better world and to take their proper place in society.

The course opened on 13 May, with activities programmed to facilitate the organisation of the participants. During the second day, everyone studied the topic presented, « The reality of the young ». The round table stirred up a very interesting debate on the different aspects of the life of youth in Brasil. The young people described their personal experience, each in his own way, and reflected on important topics, such as elections, the environment, health and violence.

On the night of 14 May, a vigil provided the youth with the opportunity to meet with three Marist establishments in Brasília. On the programme: workshops, prayer, « mantras » and the words of Brothers Joaquim and Wellington (Provincial). Saturday afternoon (15), the group went to the Esplanade of the Ministries to take part in the XVI National Eucharistic Congress, which was also held from 13 to 16 May in Brasília.
