Marist Youth Gathering at the Mulivai community

Under the motto “Deepening of Faith in relation to everyday life in our ministry”, Samoa Marist Youth gathered on October 16 in the Mulivai community, Samoa. Focusing on the issue of Youth and service, the worshop was organized by Brother Anitelea Fidow, with the collaboration of Robert, a Marist aspirant, and Lui Malaki, a Marist Lay.

The principal aim of the meeting was to reflect on the service and create in the young people awareness of what it means to serve. The workshop is a continuation program proposed for Samoa Marist Youth which will be part of the District wide Marist Youth Program. The first gathering started two weeks ago on October 9th, 2021, in the Marist Brothers Primary School.

The encounter carried out in the brothers’ home gave the youth glimpse of the mission of the Marist Brothers, the opportunity to share and time to create a meaningful connection and cooperation.

The program started in the morning with an animation prayer lead by Br. Melchor Nowel, followed by words of welcome from Brother Anitelea and an icebreaker in the form of Zumba dancing. And other activities were subsequently held by Robert and Lui Malaki.

After the activity the youth assembled for the gathering of ideas by reporting and forming as one community.

At the end of the workshop, most of the youth were very happy with the program and are looking forward to the next Marist youth gathering.
