Mary at the heart of the Church

In July, Marists gathered in São Paulo for a Symposium on Mariology. On this occasion, they were able to study and reflect on the presence of Mary in the life of the Church in Brasil and on the charisms of the different congregations. The content of the conferences has been collected in a single volume, entitled: « Mary at the heart of the Church – multiple views of Mariology ». The book was able to be launched in the course of the event thanks to the collaboration between the Marist Union of Brasil (UMBRASIL) and  Saint Paul Publications.

The texts describe the figure of Mary as woman and as educator; they also touch on her presence in the  Bible and in contemporary society. The publication goes beyond the devotional aspects; it provides theological reflections on the mother of Jesus and proposes a mature and thoughtful faith based on the virtues and teachings of the Good Mother. The volume is available for consultation in the Marist  Provinces of  Brasil, and is on sale in the  Saint Paul bookshops.
