Meeting for leaders of youth held in Paraguay
Marists involved in youth ministry met in the Marist house of Coronel Oviedo, Paraguay, to learn how to lead a movement for youths aged 15 – 18.
Members of the Marist Youth Ministry Pastoral, who travelled from the cities of Horqueta, Caaguazú, Coronel Oviedo, Limpio and Asunción, gathered at a Marist house in Coronel Oviedo on May 16 and 17.
According to a statement of the Marist district of Paraguay, the Navigating Youth Movement is aimed at “accompanying youths in their process of growth, helping them live Marist values and evangelize with the love that our founder, Marcellin Champagnat, instilled us.”
The members of the Ministry Pastoral spoke about their own experience with youths at the gathering, titled ‘encounter for the formation of steersmen.’
The statement noted that “the occasion brought together the steersmen of the Navigating Movement, animators, coordinators and brothers who exchanged experiences in a familiar and open atmosphere.”
“They were immersed in a common quest in order to discover the values and attitudes that allow the steermen to assume their role with maturity, so that they can help adolescents and young people who are in this process grow,” it added.
