Meeting of directors of the Province of Central America

On March 20, 21 and 22, the Provincial Meeting of Directors was held at the Marist Training Center in Guatemala City. This year there were 77 participants, 19 brothers and 58 lay people who are currently in different leadership positions in Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua and Honduras:

  • Provincial Coordinator of YVM
  • Lay Province Coordinator
  • Provincial Coordinator of the Programming Office
  • Guatemala and El Salvador Mission Teams
  • Managers and assistants of the Weaving Dreams Program in Guatemala, El Salvador and Costa Rica
  • Psychologist of the Horizons for the Future Program in Honduras
  • Rector and Administrative and Operational Director of the CMF
  • Brothers and lay directors of all the educational centers in the Province.

The meeting and topics were led by the members of the Provincial Education Commission who, in the light of the motto “Looking Beyond”, addressed the topic: “Leading People, Managing Change”.

The objectives established for this meeting were:

  1. To encourage self-evaluation for the development of personal leadership.
  2. To learn about the characteristics, values and principles of agile leadership in order to manage change in uncertain contexts.
  3. To strengthen leadership in the management and support of work teams.
  4. To foster a positive organizational climate conducive to educational transformation.

The thematic agenda was divided into 3 days distributed as follows:

  • Day 1: Individual leadership
  • Day 2: Team leadership
  • Day 3: Organizational leadership

Each day the prayers, topics, reflections, individual and group activities were addressed according to the theme proposed for the day, ending each day with a space dedicated to working on the personal development plan. The meeting was highly valued by each of the participants, who had the opportunity to share and learn from other managers and evaluate their leadership style from the three different areas
