Meeting of the Marists of the District of Canada

About twenty Marists of the District of Canada gathered the first weekend of April at Camp Marist Rawdon for a time of fraternity and reflection. In such a short period of time, it was not possible to talk about everything and do everything, but the important thing was to be together “around the same table”: that is what we did.

Starting with a reflection on vocation, which is the response to the calls that the Lord makes to us throughout our lives, we reflected on the context of Marcellin’s call to the priesthood and his response. And it is up to us, Marists of Champagnat, to carry and pass on his charism today, as the Brothers did from the beginning of the Marist presence in Canada in 1985.

It is true that this mission goes beyond us, and we feel a bit like the anawim, “the little remnant”. Therefore, we need to rely on Mary to carry out this mission, but in her way: with humility and trust.

It was truly a time of grace in a climate of listening, mutual attention and sharing, which allowed us, in our own way, to “Look beyond…” with confidence and serenity.
