New management at PUCRS
Brother Evilázio Teixeira will take up his new post as rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) on Dec. 9 for the coming years, from 2017 to 2020, and Dr Jaderson Costa da Costa, as vice dean.
The University’s chancellor and Arcbishop of Porto Alegre, Archbishop Jaime Spengler, appointed them after the presidency of the Marist network (Brasil Sul-Amazônia Province) proposed them.
The University’s vice-rector, Brother Evilázio Teixeira, will take the place until now occupied by Brother Clotet. Br Evilázio is also provincial councillor and councillor of the directors of the maintainers of the Marist network (SOME, USBEE and UBEA) from 2013.
Jaderson Costa da Costa, named as vice rector, is professor of neurology at the School of Medicine of PUCRS. He is dedicated to clinical and transnational research in epilepsy and in recent years he has focused his studies on the potential of therapy with adult stem cells in neurological disorders.
