New Provincial of Central Mexico

The General Council, after studying the consultation made in the Province, has appointed Br. José Sánchez Bravo as Provincial of Central Mexico for a first mandate of three years.

Br. Emili Turú, Superior General, in his letter to the Brothers of the Province, underlined the following: “I thank Br. José, our dear Pepe, for his openness and availability to serve the Institute as Provincial”.

At the same time, Br. Emili thanked the present Provincial, Br. Ricardo Reynoso, “who, for the past six years, has given the best of himself in the animation and government of the Province”.

On his appointment Br. José said: “I remain without words… I am profoundly aware of my limitations, yet I have a strong impulse to trust in the loving embrace of Mary and Jesus.   My ‘yes’ is added to the ‘yes’ of many Brothers and laity who day after day in the schools and the missions are bearers and a reflection of the merciful love of God”.

Br. José was born in Puebla in 1973.  He studied in the Marist University of San Luis Potosí.  His vocation is closely linked to Youth Ministry.  Br. Basilio Rueda was his Master of Novices.  After his profession, he served in the educational communities of San Luis Potosí, Celaya and Uruapan, where he was a teacher, worked in youth ministry, and was Director of the school.

For the past five years, he has been a member of the Provincial Council. During the last two years, he has also coordinated the Provincial Team of Educational Pastoral Ministry.
