?On the way??
The Brothers of Colombia gathered in the Casa de San Pablo in the city of Armenia, from 15 to 17 August, with the aims of meeting and sharing as brothers, learning and implementing the itinerary of personal and community conversion, receiving information about the formation plan and the community animation we are pushing ahead with during these three years, and finally, as a prelude to the celebration in 2014 of the 125 years of the arrival of the Brothers in Colombia.
Conversion is something which needs to take place throughout our whole life and which, in reality, does not depend in the first place on us, but is rather something that God gives us and which we can go on receiving personally and in community.
Conversion means setting out on the way, supposes a co-operative and constructive attitude with the plan of God in humanity (this is the real beginning of conversion, the true point of personal inflection). Conversion means a greater availability and predisposition towards what makes us fully happy as persons and as a human community. In this way it involves anactive commitment, and it is this which demonstrates the truthfulness and validity of the whole interior life.
?The spirit of this XXI Chapter, the approach of the bicentenary of our foundation, and a greater consciousness of our internationality urge us to a new consecrated life, with a strong Gospel identity, that will promote a new way of being brother. During this Chapter, the Spirit has called us to welcome a ?new way of being brother?. We need to recover the originality of the name that Marcellin gave us: ?Little Brothers of Mary?. Brothers, sons of the same Father, called by God to give our lives totally through our religious consecration, anchoring our lives in Jesus Christ. Each brother is the one primarily responsible for his own journey of conversion.? (Letter of the Brothers of the XXI General Chapter).
