Our pilgrimage of faith

Dear Brothers and Marist laity. Greetings from Manziana where we continue our programme of ongoing formation in a spirit of brotherhood. In communion with the Church which is celebrating the Year of Faith, our community undertook a pilgrimage to Assisi from 25 to 27 April. It was an opportunity for us to be challenged by the person of Saint Francis of Assisi in joining thousands of pilgrims from all over.

After this intense time in Assisi, Brother César Rojas of the Secretariat Brothers Today, with conviction and enthusiasm, reminded us that our Vocation as Religious Brothers should always maintain its fascination and its place in the mission of the church today.  His presence for two days at Manziana revived in us the call of the 21st GC  inviting us to be authentic witnesses of a «new consecrated life, firmly rooted in the Gospel, which promotes a new way of being brother ».

Ana Sarrate, of the Secretariat of the Laity, knew how to touch our hearts by her personality and her Marist convictions. Her presence rendered more explicit the need for collaboration between Brothers and Lay Marists in our different places of mission.

Brother José Maria Ferre, as a good spiritual master, shared with us the significant moments when our Good Mother had to renew her Fiat. Always in the line of the 21st GC, he made us aware that our journeying with Mary supposes our commitment to offer a presence which reflects the marial face  of a Church closer to the youth and people of our world today.

Our stay at Manziana is a  particular opportunity for us to recharge our batteries and open ourselves up to the grace of God which daily gives us new energy in view of a more authentic Marist religious life.

Thanks to the Formation Team, Brs Barry, Antoine, Anthony and Fr Neil for their savoir faire and skill in accompaniment.

We remain united to you all, Brothers and Lay Marists, who remember us in your prayers.
