Participants of the Forum on Lay Marist Vocation visit the Vatican and the General House

The third day of the meeting of the International Forum on Lay Marist Vocation was marked by a visit to the statue of Saint Marcellin Champagnat at the Vatican and to the Generalate community.

In the morning the group, in two buses, headed to the Vatican where they were allowed to visit the statue of St. Marcellin sculpted by Jiménez Deredia from Costa Rica, placed outside the Basilica in front of Casa Santa Marta on September 20, 2000. It was a moment of intense communion with the universal Church that was crowned with a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica.

After a brief tour of Rome, especially the Colosseum, the group went to the General House, where they had lunch and celebrated Mass in the late afternoon. The warm welcome from the community put the group in tune with the Global Charismatic Family, reminding them that they all walk guided by the same ideal of Saint Marcellin Champagnat.
