Waldemiro Gremski took office as Rector of the PUCPR on 12 December. Paulo Mussi was reconfirmed as Vice-Rector. On the same occasion, the four Pro-Rectors took up office.
After 16 years at the helm of the PUCPR, and a performance decisive for its national and international consolidation, Clemente Ivo Juliatto completes his mandate on 31 December 2013.
The new rector, Waldemiro Gremski, is a doctor in biology and possesses an extensive scientific production in Cellular Biology, with emphasis on Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. He joined the PUCPR in 1977 as teacher of Histology and Cellular Biology in courses in the field of health. In 1988 he was released by the University to take his doctorate outside. He returned definitively in 2002 to co-ordinate the laboratory of mother cells, and then to propose and co-ordinate the first doctorate of the University. From 2006 he was director of investigation and postgraduation, assuming the direction of the department in 2011.
The commitment of the new governing body of the PUCPR is to continue the building up of a University dedicated to excellence at all levels of performance, being a national and international leader, faithful to its Christian and Marist principles.
