Province of « Brasil Centro-Sul »

In November, the collaborators of the Province of « Brasil Centro-Sul » were informed that there would be a « great event » on 5 December. The last mail launched a challenge to the youth : «come with your portable phone, your lap-top or tablet to talk to us about vocation. » Curiosity about the « event » went on growing…

On arriving at the rendez-vous point, first surprise… People discovered a peculiar ambiance… No table for the authorities. Just a room with some armchairs, poufs, chairs and tables. The ambiance was more like that of an auditorium ; interaction was possible based on vignettes, music, social networks, biblical texts, advertising…

Apart from Brothers Joaquim Sperandio and Benê Oliveira, Provincial and Vice-Provincial respectively, in the « lounge », there were representatives from many sectors of the Province and the Church of Brasil. All present were able to participate in the event by using a microphone or by sending  messages via the social networks, especially on Twitter.

The conversation began with questions posed to the group : What is vocation ? How to harmonise the call of God with one’s life project ? How to work in the animation of vocations today, given the current challenges ? Brothers, young people, laity, men and women, all spoke without having to worry about limits or hierarchies… It was a family conversation, very  constructive.

It was at the end of the morning that the projects and materials for Animation of vocations presented by the  Sector of Consecrated Life and the Laity of the Province were launched: two revues of the programme « Happy life », for the attention of teachers and students, and the  « Vocations Directory ».
