Province of Central America
A meeting is a space for conviviality, learning, growth and to strengthen the life and practice of a community. This is what we experienced at the managers meeting held in El Salvador on April 11 to 13 this year.
With the participation of representatives from the countries of the Central American Province – Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Puerto Rico – the coordinators, directors and rectors of the different schools met to share and reflect once again. This time the meeting revolved around the topics of educating in values and technological integration.
The work was directed by Carlos Cabarrús SJ, Carla Leiva BA (Coordinator from Champagnat School in El Salvador), and Brother Carlos Gutiérrez, Provincial of Central America. The participants reflected on the importance of values and their application to everyday life, and the integration of information and communications technologies (ICT) in education development.
The participants enjoyed the meeting thanks to the discussion of these topics, and to other spaces open to dialogue, new proposals, and sharing as a family. In addition to that, the meeting promoted reflection, the personal commitment of these managers, and their responsibility for the different Marist works, in order to develop new proposals to address the challenges of the XXI century education, proposals that seek to respond to the needs and interests of our children and young people in the Province, who are the reason why we are educators, and the privileged protagonists of Saint Marcellin Champagnat’s dream.
